University of Lincoln

The client
The University of Lincoln is a vibrant, campus-based institution offering a dynamic learning environment. With a large teaching estate that includes over 400 teaching and learning spaces, it supports a diverse community of 15,000 students.
The solution
As a trusted partner for over a decade, Sennheiser has transformed AV setups for educational institutions, with the transition to TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC 2) microphones marking a significant milestone. The TCC 2 eliminated the complexities of traditional lapel microphones, offering seamless functionality for academic staff while significantly reducing the AV team’s support workload. Over 150 Sennheiser microphones, including TCC 2 and SpeechLine Digital Wireless systems, were deployed across high-impact teaching spaces, including 12 lecture theatres and the Lawress Hall professional services building, within just 18 months. The integration of these solutions with automated camera tracking and MobileConnect enhanced blended learning, lecture capture, and assisted listening capabilities, creating an intuitive and engaging experience for remote and in-room participants. Despite challenges such as tight timelines, space access, and network infrastructure updates, the project has delivered transformative improvements, enabling seamless, self-service operation and empowering the institution’s academic and AV teams.
"Moving to the TCC 2 has been transformative, as it eliminates the mental load on our academic colleagues by removing the need for setup in spaces. This shift has significantly reduced the support load on the AV team, enabling us to focus on broader initiatives."
